Mission to facilitate visit to the holy sites of Medina for 42,000 Hajj pilgrims before Hajj

The Pakistan Hajj Mission is taking proactive measures to ensure healthy food for the pilgrims. To ensure food standards, two catering companies were fined 4,000 riyals for not following food quality standards and neglecting their duty to provide satisfactory meals.

These caterers are responsible for providing food three times a day to Pakistani pilgrims in Mecca. Chief Food Officer Makkah, Farooq Haider said that strict food quality standards have been maintained to prioritize the satisfaction and well-being of pilgrims during their Hajj journey.

He said that at present, a total of 13 catering companies are tasked with providing three daily meals to Pakistani Hajj pilgrims based in nine sectors. He further said that with the help of Pakistan’s Moavineen measures are in place to maintain food quality standards.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony spokesman Muhammad Umer Butt said the mission has taken comprehensive measures to ensure a smooth and meaningful pilgrimage experience for over 42,000 pilgrims and has made elaborate arrangements to facilitate the visit of the holy places in Madinah Munawara before their Hajj. way.

He said the aim of the effort was to provide a spiritually enriching journey that would enable pilgrims to immerse themselves in the significance of the sacred sites. He emphasized that the remaining pilgrims participating in the government program will have the opportunity to visit the holy places in Madinah during their stay in the city after Hajj.

Over 46,000 Pakistani pilgrims have so far arrived in Saudi Arabia under the government scheme. Among them, 16,000 pilgrims are currently staying in Madinah, while the remaining 30,000 Hajj pilgrims have been provided accommodation in Makkah Mukarramah.

The spokesman said that private pilgrims have started arriving in the holy cities, with a total of 3,000 pilgrims from the private Hajj program arriving in the holy cities. According to the religious affairs spokesman, the Hajj Medical Mission was currently providing medical facilities in Makkah and Madinah through two hospitals and twelve dispensaries.

A dedicated team of 272 doctors and medical staff are available 24/7 to offer treatment services in Makkah and Madinah Munawarrah. Flight operations from Pakistan to Madinah Munawarrah for Hajj purposes have been suspended, with all government Hajj flights scheduled to arrive in Jeddah by June 21.

Tracking of 35 Hajj group organizers has been successfully completed and two complaints related to the private Hajj scheme have been resolved, a spokeswoman confirmed. According to the spokesman, the lost and found department also successfully escorted 18 pilgrims who lost their way to the designated accommodation.
