Hajj Flight Operation from May 21

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has unveiled the eagerly awaited Hajj flight schedule for the government programmer.

According to the ministry’s spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt in an interview with APP, pilgrims participating in the holy journey have been asked to strictly follow the given schedule.

In line with preparations for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage, pilgrims have been advised to procure necessary vaccines and essential medicines from Hajj camps as indicated in the Hajj schedule, he pointed out.

To ensure seamless communication and coordination, the ministry said it has implemented an effective notification system where prospective pilgrims are informed through the official website and through SMS alerts.

According to the published schedule, the first Hajj flights from major cities including Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi were scheduled to take off on May 21, marking the start of the much-anticipated journey, a ministry spokesman confirmed.

He said the initial departures from Sialkot, Multan and Quetta were scheduled on May 22, May 23 and May 24, respectively, giving an opportunity to pilgrims from these cities to embark on their spiritual journey.

Umar Butt told the pilgrims in Rahim Yar Khan and Sukkur that their respective first flights of Hajj will take off on June 6 and June 7, enabling them to join fellow believers on this sacred journey.

He further announced that the last Hajj flights will depart on June 20, which will ensure that all pilgrims will have enough time to complete their pilgrimage within the allotted time frame.

In line with health and safety measures, he said the Hajj camps will start the immunization process against meningitis, influenza and polio starting May 17 and provide the pilgrims with the necessary protection during their Hajj journey.

First Hajj flights from Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi to take off on May 21

In a commendable collaboration between the ministry and the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), free coronavirus vaccine counters have been set up in Haji camps to facilitate the pilgrims, he added.

Umar Butt further informed that in order to streamline administrative processes, pilgrims at Haji camps will be provided with necessary documents including passports, air tickets, visas and identity medallions 24 hours before the scheduled departure, which will ensure a hassle-free departure.

According to the MoRA spokesperson, the intended pilgrims will depart for Saudi Arabia on the first flights from Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore on May 21.

Similarly, the first Hajj flight departs from Sialkot on Monday (May 22), Multan on Tuesday (May 23) and Quetta next Wednesday (May 24). Intended pilgrims will leave for KSA from Rahim Yar Khan on June 6 and Sukkur on June 7.

The spokesman said the last Hajj flight will depart on June 20.
