Kanpur Dam Overview
Kanpur Dam is a dam on the Haru River near the Potwar Plateau in Tasir Kanpur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. It is about 50 kilometers away from Islamabad. It forms Lake Kanpur, a reservoir that supplies drinking water to Islamabad and Rawalpindi and irrigates many agricultural and industrial areas around the city. It is 167 feet (51 meters) high and has a water storage capacity of 79,980 acre feet.
