Woman Gives Birth in Masjid an-Nabawi

Saudi Red Crescent volunteers working at Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah recently had the rare experience of giving birth when a female worshiper went into labor in the mosque’s courtyard.

Dr. Al-Zahrani noted: When the team arrived at the scene, they realized that the condition of this woman was serious, and she was about to give birth.

This woman is giving birth, which indicates that she was in labor. The SRCA team said her water broke and the baby’s head was already out.

The team followed strict protocol in that situation and started helping the women to give birth.

Dr. Al-Zahrani added: After the successful delivery of the baby, the mother and the child were taken to the Bab Gabriel Health Center for further examination, in these cases, special medical care is needed.

She said that thanks to the specialized medical training the team received as doctors, she was able to deliver the baby safely.

Dr. Al-Zahrani emphasized the importance of alerting the ambulance service by calling 997 in case of emergency. Ambulance services can also be contacted through the SOS service in the Asafani application or the Tawakalna application. He added that this allows ambulance teams to pinpoint the caller’s location with high accuracy, saving time and effort to get to the scene and render aid.
