New Umrah Season

Saudi Arabia is preparing to welcome up to 10 million overseas Muslims to perform the Umrah Season, or minor pilgrimage, in the new season, a television report said.

Al Arabiya TV quoted unidentified sources as saying that the kingdom is gearing up for a huge Umrah season and aims to receive 10 million pilgrims from abroad to take part in Umrah rituals at the Grand Mosque in Mecca starting with Al Muharram, the first month in the Islamic lunar calendar. is due to start later this month.

Umrah Service

About 300 Umrah service companies have applied for and received related licenses, the report added.

Last week, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said it has started issuing e-visas for the new Umrah season after the annual Hajj pilgrimage ends.

Nusuk Platform

The ministry said that Umrah visa applications are submitted through the Nusuk platform https://www.nusuk.sa/ar/about.

Visa holders will start arriving in the Kingdom to perform Umrah from the first of Al Muharram.

The Nusuk platform facilitates procedures including accommodation for Muslims from all over the world who are planning to perform Umrah.

Millions of Muslims who cannot physically or financially afford the annual Hajj rituals flock to Saudi Arabia to perform the Umrah.

In recent months, the kingdom has unveiled a number of facilities for overseas Muslims to come to the country to perform Umrah.

Muslims who hold different types of entry visas such as personal, visitor and tourist visas are allowed to perform Umrah and visit Al Rawda Al Sharif, where the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is located in the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah after reservation e.-appointment.

Saudi authorities have extended the Umrah visa from 30 days to 90, allowing holders to enter the kingdom through all land, air and sea outlets and depart from any airport.

The Kingdom also announced that foreigners residing in Gulf Cooperation Council countries are eligible to apply for a tourist visa regardless of their profession and can perform Umrah.

Likewise, Schengen, US and UK visa holders can book appointments for Umrah and visit Al Rawda Al Sharif through the Nusuk app before arriving in Saudi Arabia.
