Mekkah Route
Mekkah Route initiative benefits many pilgrims during the Hajj season 2023.
The Mekkah Route Initiative has benefited a total of 68,721 pilgrims as of Wednesday, May 31 during the current Hajj season.
Passport Procedure
This initiative includes issuing visas electronically and adopting important characteristics. Pilgrims then go through a complete passport procedure at the airport in the country of departure after verification of their health requirements.
The procedure also includes coding and sorting luggage based on accommodation in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia
Since its launch in 2019, the initiative has been implemented in 7 countries including Morocco, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan and Bangladesh. In 2023, the initiative will be implemented for the first time in Turkey and Ivory Coast.
Saudi Vision 2030
The Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with its partners, joined the Mekkah Route Initiative as part of the Saudi Arabian Pilgrim Experience Program, which is one of the Saudi Vision 2030 programs.
The initiative is now being implemented in Morocco, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and for the first time in Turkey and Ivory Coast.
Airport Jeddah
On board 189 flights, the recipients arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina.
The initiative aims to complete the travel procedures for the privileged pilgrims in their countries, starting with the electronic issuance of the visa and the taking of vital characteristics, through the completion of the passport procedures at the airport of the country of departure after the verification of health requirements and the coding and sorting of luggage according to the transport and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom.
