Nearly 2mln pilgrims perform Umrah in Saudi Arabia

Makkah: So far, nearly two million pilgrims perform Umrah from all over the world have entered Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage during the current Umrah season.

Since the beginning of the Umrah season on the first day of Muharram on July 30, 1444, a total of one million and 964 thousand and 964 pilgrims outside the kingdom have been registered in the air, land and seaports of the kingdom.

The number of pilgrims from airports was 1 million 783 thousand 392, 180 thousand 363 from land ports and 1209 from sea.

2 Million Pilgrims Have Performed Umrah Since The Start Of Ramadan 2022

Pilgrims from Indonesia, the most populous Muslim country, ranked first among the countries that send the most pilgrims. A total of 551,410 Indonesian Umrah pilgrims have entered this country this season.

Pakistan came second with 370 thousand 83 pilgrims and India third with 230 thousand 794 pilgrims. After India, Iraq with 150 thousand 109 pilgrims and Egypt with 101 thousand 657 pilgrims are in the next ranks. Bangladesh ranks last with 11,984 pilgrims.

Almost 2 Million Pilgrims Perform Umrah

470 Saudi businesses and establishments are licensed to serve Umrah pilgrims and pilgrims during the 10-month Umrah season, which ends on the 29th of Dhu al-Qaida, just before the annual Hajj.

Saudi Arabia has extended the duration of the Umrah visa from one month to three months, allowing pilgrims to travel throughout the kingdom during the visa period. If it coincides with the Hajj season, the visa period ends 3 months earlier.

2 Million Pilgrims Register For Umrah In One Month
